Our Service

The Canterbury International Buddhist Meditation Centre aims to fulfil the following missions.

  • To facilitate the religious activities of the people in all their aspects.
  • To conduct Buddhist meditation courses.
  • To operate as a separate retreat centre for the promotion of mental well-being.
  • To provide opportunities for the study of the three Dhamma disciplines of Sutta-Vinaya-Abhidhamma.
  • To teach the Pali language.
  • To introduce a Buddhist Diploma course for those aspiring to the Dhamma.
  • To promote the practice of Samatha-Vipesana meditation.
  • To provide residential facilities for lay and ordained yogis.
  • Implementing the local and international Dhamma messenger service.
  • Implementing special discussion programs on a daily, weekly and monthly basis for the improvement of the merit of the people and for the enhancement of Dhamma knowledge..
